As a family we try to embrace a new adventure every time we travel. While we’ve all been on a boat before, none of us had been sailing. So, we took to the water aboard Mango, a private 40’ catamaran with a crew of four, to do some snorkeling off the coast of Cancun and Isla Mujeres.
HER Highlights:
Life doesn’t get much better than this - calm water, clear skies and full sail ahead. Loved being able to spend time sprawled on the deck with my boys.
Catamarans are incredibly smooth across the water, so smooth in fact that it is possible to enjoy a little salsa dancing on the deck. (You’ll soon learn that our family loves to dance.)
Our driver to and from the dock was amazing!
HIS Highlights:
Loved laying out on the front deck.
Cool being able to put the sails up and go!
THEIR Highlight:
Loved the crew.
Snorkeling was really good. Great tip to bring old tortillas to tempt the fish.
The calm, shallow water off Isla Mujeres.
The hull was a perfect place to nap.

OUR Recommendation to Cancun Sailing:
The booking process is all via email and is a little convoluted. Lots of companies act as booking agencies for the same catamarans and yachts. Would be great if there was a final invoice provided once you pay your deposit showing the remaining balance.
Would be great if the company would let you know that you should not pay any extra in advance. It won’t show up on the day of the trip and you will have to work with Pay Pal to reclaim the balance.
The boat could use some TLC. Definitely older and of lower quality than shown in the marketing pictures.
OUR RATING: 7 out of 10
